Menschenrechtsverletzungen... direkt vor unserer Nase

Folter in Guantanamo Bay, Todesstrafen in China, Demonstrationsverbote in Syrien. Menschenrechtsverletzungen geschehen in anderen Ländern - und direkt vor unserer Haustüre.

Europa - Land der Menschenrechte, Österreich - Insel der Seligen. Während BesitzerInnen österreichischer Pässe ungestört ihr Leben führen (solange sie nicht arm oder politisch aktiv sind), droht anderen Menschen die Zerstörung ihrer Existenz. Und das nicht manchmal und in Ausnahmefällen.

Anfang Mai konnte die Abschiebung von W. gerade noch verhindert werden. W.'s Vater wurde in Ghana ermordet. Aus Angst um sein Leben floh W. nach Europa und lebte seit 3 Jahren in Salzburg. Nun sollte er wieder dorthin zurück geschickt werden. Sein Leben ist in den Augen der Behörden wenig wert. Nur durch seinen engagierten FreundInnenkreis konnte die Schubhaft verhindert werden. Seine Abschiebung ist aber nur aufgeschoben, nicht aufgehoben.

Ende Mai in Salzburg: Ein Mazedonier wurde nach 8 Jahren in Österreich abgeschoben. In dieser Zeit heiratete er, bekam ein Kind und fand Arbeit. Grund für seine Abschiebung: Ein Diebstahl vor 6 Jahren, der aufgrund seiner Nichtigkeit nicht einmal rechtlich geahndet wurde.

Von diesen Fällen wissen wir nur, weil sie besonders absurd und unglaublich sind. Oder weil die Betroffenen ausnahmsweise einen großen FreundInnenkreis besitzen. All jene, die in Schubhaft sitzen, keinen Kontakt nach draußen haben – all diese werden ohne Medienberichte abgeschoben. Ohne Rücksicht auf deren Leib und Leben.

Wer sich gegen diese ständigen Menschenrechtsverletzungen einsetzen will, dessen Ziel muss sein: Abschiebungen stoppen – sofort!
