Veranstaltungstipps für den Sommer

Ab Juli sind zwar Sommerferien, also keine Uni, aber es gibt einige Möglichkeiten die Zeit die nicht schon durch Arbeiten und für Prüfungen lernen verplant ist, zu nutzen:

3. - 8. Juli: Internationale Sommerakademie "Zeitenwende in der arabischen Welt: Welche Antworten findet Europa?"

Die 28. Sommerakademie des Österreichischen Studienzentrums für Frieden und Konfliktlösung in Stadtschlaining (Südburgenland) befasst sich mit den Umbrüchen in Nordafrika und Vorderasien. Fünf Tage lang behandeln Workshops, Vorträge, Filmabende und Lesungen die arabischen Demokratiebewegungen. Einige Themen:

  • Politische und militärische Kräfteverhältnisse in der arabischen Welt
  • Die arabische Welt als Wirtschaftsraum
  • Der Islam und die Demokratiebewegungen
  • Wer ist willkommen? Die Flüchtlingsbewegungen nach den Umbrüchen

Das Programm umfasst auch ein Burgfest! Die Teilnahmegebühr beträgt für Studierende 35 Euro. Die Teilnahme ist nach Belieben an einigen Tagen oder für die gesamte Woche möglich. Kostenlose Übernachtung: im Turnsaal der Volksschule oder in eigenen Zelten am Sportplatz.

31. Juli - 4. August: Vienna International Model United Nations 2011

Einmal jährlich findet in der UNO-City in Wien die VIMUN statt. Mehrere hundert Studierende und JungakademikerInnen aus über 40 Ländern simulieren die Arbeitsweise von UN-Gremien. Folgende Organisationen stehen zur Auswahl:

  • UN Sicherheitsrat
  • UN Menschenrechtsrat
  • UN Industrial Development Organisation
  • Weltgesundheitsorganisation
  • Food and Agricultural Organization
  • International Atomic Energy Agency

Die Arbeitssprache ist Englisch. Die Teilnahme kostet 180 Euro und setzt eine rechtzeitige Anmeldung voraus.

Die Grüne Sommerakademie findet dieses Jahr im Schloss Goldegg statt. Es werden folgende Themenfelder behandelt:

  • Arbeiten und Wirtschaften
  • Wohnen
  • Essen
  • Kleidung

Ende August findet zusätzlich zum Antinationalen Sommercamp im Norden der Jungen Linken auch eins im Süden statt.

Jeweils letzter Freitag im Monat: Critical Mass Salzburg

Auch im Sommer wird es jeden letzten Freitag im Monat die Möglichkeit geben sich mal gemeinsam mit vielen Anderen als RadfahrerIn den Platz den RadfahreInnen sonst im Strassenverkehr nicht haben. Die geplanten Termine im Sommer sind: 24. Juni, 29. Juli, 26. August und 30. September Treffpunkt ist jeweils um 17:00 im Park vor dem Kongresshaus.
